Welcome to do it yourself eliquid recipes. I’m John I Am a flavor compounder and in this video I will give you a quick review and some starting ratios for flavorah’s Boysenberry. The reason I picked to review this flavor is because it is a very accurate and useful berry flavor.
It is a sweet type of berry with a good balance of citrus and fruity flavor. These properties make it a great concentrate to use as a base or to add some of it in a recipe to boost the berry profile. It pairs very well with most fruits like blueberries and strawberry as a great example.
Boysenberry is a fairly popular flavorah concentrate and you can find it included in many recipes. If you want to try it solo I would recommend starting from 1.5% up to 4%. And in recipes you can use it from 0.
5% up to 3% usually. I made a solo recipe at 3.5% boysenberry with 0.5% ethyl Maltol and 26%PG 70%VG and let it steep for about 1 week. After vaping 5ml of it I have to say that I like it a lot and the vape it produces its very aromatic and non offensive to people in the room.
On the inhale you can taste a little bit of tartness but it all because a sweet fruity blend on the exhale. Since Im not a fan of this type of flavors I find it a little sharp. It might also have to do with the high ratio I used, but if you like sweet blueberry recipes this should be a good starting point for you for solo.
It is a great flavor and I can see it go very well in a strawberry recipe at 0.5% to boost the berries or at around 1% to introduce some boysenberry tartness in your recipe. It is a well made flavor that deserves your attention if you are looking for a different kind of berry or blueberry approach.
If you already have this flavor let me know how you usually like to use it in your mixes. That’s all I have for today. Thank you again for watching and I will see you next time.
