Sticky Brick Runt Manual Vaporizer Review

What’s up guys, Matt from VapeFuse here. Back again helping to keep you up to date with the latest and greatest in weed vaping news and tech. Now, for our first video of 2019, I’m gonna be bringing you one of my new favorite devices.

The manual, made in USA, Sticky Brick Runt. Now, the Runt is the latest release in the Sticky Brick line of portable wood vaporizers and its design and functionality is just ingenious and it’s unlike anything I’ve seen in the portable vaporizer market.

Now since the Sticky Brick line of vaporizers were released, I did see a couple of other pretty similar glass and wood vapes emerge, but in my opinion this is definitely the most impressive and using this one over the past couple days it’s easy to see why this is becoming a worldwide favorite.

So if you’re used to using Legos or Kinect or anything like that when you were a kid, you’re gonna have a bit of a nostalgia of this one. As of design, pretty intricately it’s got all of these different pieces that come apart, which is sort of a trend amongst manual vaporizers.

You can take the things, put back together replacing individual parts and basically just ensure the longevity of your device. So this one has got three main blocks, it’s got the air intake block, it’s got the base block and it’s got this chamber block here.

So obviously the chamber block has got this stainless steel chamber screen in the bottom, you pack your grind herb into and this device uses comparatively more herbs, than most manual vapes, that you’ll come across so.

Devices like the VapMan or the Lotus Vape or DynaVap for instance have the chamber size or capacity of between 0.05 and 0.15 of a gram. Whereas, this Sticky Brick Runt is a little bit more like a digital vaporizer, like the Crafty or an Arizer Solo has a little bit more of a capacity.

So you can pack anywhere between 0.2 or all the way up to half a gram of dried ground herb, into to the back of your chamber here. So from the chamber, obviously kicked out, it’s got this air exhale at the back that the vapor comes out of once heated and then a carb hole at the front, so carb on it, pretty much just like you would a water pipe the whole time, when you’re having a hit.

This one you carb this with your finger. What also comes included in the Runt’s Kit- they’ve got a bunch of awesome little accessories here, that sort of help maintain your functionality or improve a little bit.

So these little corks, that they’ve got included, you can just shove that in the front of your carb hole, instead of by inserting that there, then you’ve never got to worry about putting in your carb, but obviously if you’re used to hitting a pipe, like I used to, it’s a lot more familiar, adds that element of familiarity sort of, have the carb clear and sort of clear the chamber afterwards.

This air intake hole here as well so the air intake brick my apologies, has this o-ring at the top and this little glass air intake. So basically when you’re heating your chamber, you’re just heating this little glass intake with the end of this little jet lighter flame here, as you’re inhaling.

So it seems a little bit ominous to get started with, once you’ve got all this hooked up together, because it just kind of looks like a traditional water pipe with dab rig basically, obviously with that you’re never inhaling the butane flame, usually preheating or whatever punching a bong and sort of just hit it until it pulls through, but with this one you do in fact have to inhale the flame through this little air intake.

So if you’re using butane that’s like this NewPort gas here, contains zero impurities and sort of triple to five times refined. You’re not gonna have any issues with residual butane sort of getting into your vapor path, all that butane will burn off as the flame is hitting it.

This one here, is a not an on demand vaporizer. So it’s not a device that you’re going to preheat. It’s a device that you’re gonna sort of inhale and then heat it while you’re inhaling. So other vapes like the DynaVap, obviously to have the VapCap that clicks, notify when it’s reached a certain temp, doesn’t have this feature, but I don’t know you can sort of gauge your hit a little bit better of this device I find, so you can sort of feel the heat and see the vapor as it’s being pulled up through this mouthpiece straw here.

So you can really gauge the size of the hit that you’re about to take and sort of adjust with the flame or with your inhalation. accordingly. So with this one now guys, we’re going to have a look at the kit a little bit.

So included in the kit, they’ve got a metal and wooden toothpick here, so they’ve got this little metal stirring tool, that is pretty common for use with concentrates and I’ve also got this wooden stirring tool – which you can use just both of them to stir up the bowl.

I know a lot of vape reviewers love these wooden ones and I’m pretty, pretty partial to these wooden sticks too. Obviously the metal, it’s not going to impart any residual sort of effect on your herb but it’s just a little bit nicer to feel the wooden and glass, it feels a lot more natural the whole thing.

So also included is a bunch of these chamber screens at the bottom. These guys definitely do not skimp on their accessories, they make sure youre hooked up, so you don’t have to go shopping around for a long time.

I’ve got I think five individual stainless steel chamber screens. I only use this for dry herb, but if you chuck a little liquid or a concentrate on to this chamber screen at the bottom, if you’re gonna heat it for a little longer I’m sure that’s gonna atomize that perfectly as well.

Obviously, cleaning comes a bit more into effect, when that happens, but, yeah all depends. This is a pretty simple device to clean, so we’ve been using ours for a couple of weeks now and haven’t really had the need to clean it yet.

Besides, just getting a little brushing and scooping up any excess herb particles out of the mix. So also included in the kit are two of these restricted discs, so if I have a look at the air intake here, you’d be able to see, you just pull out this little glass intake there, you can see when I knocked that out, we’ve already got this little restricted disc fitted just underneath this o-ring here.

So, basically what that does, is it fits directly into the bottom of your air intake brick and what that’s gonna do, is it’s gonna stop the wood in the bottom from getting scorched and I feel like it actually assists with the heating a little bit better, it helps to heat the bowl a little bit faster, than if you were just pulling through traditionally.

But obviously, preference, if you don’t want any metal in your vapor path, strictly wood. However, this is stainless steel, so it’s food grade, it’s not going to impart any flavors or affect you really in anyway.

So I chucked out that little restricted discs back in the base here, just using my packing tool to knock it in place and one little tip today about giving you when you’re putting these bricks back together always place the o-ring into the top of the brick first, because that’ll ensure that you’re not sort of having to around with your parts and stuff here, when you’re trying to flick it back in.

So now that we’ve got this air intake brick, we’re gonna put the device together, packed it up with some ground herbs and see how this thing operates. So putting all accessories just to the side, it’s my little kit, obviously as I said, if I want to cover that carb hole, we got the cork, but I prefer to keep mine a bit more natural.

The flame that comes with it, it’s a pretty simple little jet lighter, just the honest brand, if you’re filling up with pure butane, not going to have any issues. It’s pretty similar to the one that comes with the VapMan, that’s been running for over six months now, we’ve been using that pretty regularly and I’ve had no issues.

Obviously it’s got the flame adjust point on the bottom where you feel it. You just want to have that at roughly 2 centimeters long or an inch long. So if you look at sort of the internal flame there, you can see it sitting there roughly 2 centimeters, so that’s going to be perfect for the intake.

So I put some White Russian flower from the dispensary, I’m gonna crush up with this little GrindeROO To grind the size that you want to go for, a little bit finer, so this one it’s really big on visible vapor production.

Terpenes are fantastic as well, not quite there, compared to say the LotusVape or the DynaVap Omnivong or something like that, but still flavours, are definitely, a factor with this one. So taking some ground herb here now, chuck that into the top of the Grinder, muss it up real quick.

I tend to use a half pack chamber of this one, but that’s me with most devices, so obviously just depends on your preference, whether or not you want a full or a half pack. This chamber, you can get a massive session off this one, that we had a little videos for our best manual vapes that’s in the works and we’d hit maybe eight or nine tokes, out of this bowl and was still relatively green, yellow, and no brownness in the picture yet.

So, if you’re looking for a manual vape that you can pack up and take on the go for a whole day’s worth of sessions, the Sticky Brick Runt is a lot better comparably. So, compared to something like the DynaVap, it’s got that little chamber you’re gonna have to sort of keep packing it up throughout the day.

I really feel that, if you’re a heavy user you can get away with one big pack chamber of the Runt, as long as you keep stirring it, because half a gram weed is obviously quite a large amount of herb, but compared to say digital devices like the Crafty, you’re only gonna get maybe like a 10-minute session of half a gram.

So the Sticky Brick Runt is a lot more efficient in those regards. So the TinyROO, we’ve got here, offers a medium fine grind that’s just from GrindeROO to my favourite Aussie Grinder company. So packing now just into the top of the chamber, so you just remove this top little brick, just like a Lego and you can either take the brick off and pack it directly out of the grinder or bring Mohammed to the mountain, depending on your preference, obviously like to take it to the grinder, avoid any spilling and you’ll see in a second, I’m probably packing maybe a quarter of a gram into this 0.

25, so it’s about halfway up of the wooden walls of the side of the chamber here. So I just tamp that down light. You don’t want to press it in too hard, because I am gonna sort of stir this consistently and pack it down again, but just pack it a little bit in, nothing like you have to do with a pipe or a recurrent piece on the bong.

Just replacing the top of this little lid.. So now we’re just gonna have a go, at having some White Russian through this brick. So there’s replacing the bricks back together obviously chamber on the bottom, air intake on the top and with this little tube here, I find that it’s better to have that glass air intake tube positioned at a diagonal angle.

If you’ve got sitting it straight forward it’s gonna be a little bit difficult to gauge whether or not the flame is entering the air intake, so if you put it sideways at a 90 degree angle or in the middle at a 45 degree diagonal angle that’s gonna be the easiest to see that flame going in.

For you guys I’ll point this towards the camera, so you can sort of gauge, how I’m working with this bad boy. So finger on the carb hole, herbs in and you’re gonna be wanting to position that flame directly down the middle of the tube, so obviously it’s a bit difficult to see in the light, you can see that there is both an internal and an external flame to the internal flame being the light blue, the external being a little bit of a darker navy color.

So I wanted that internal and external flame just where they meet, want that to be directly at the entrance of the brick, while I’m inhaling. You want to inhale a little bit harder than you would say with LotusVape, you want to hit it like a bong, like a DynaVap basically.

All right bombs away. Whoo, off that first hit, very terpene, rich vapor, obviously not a huge cloud off that one, but we’ll give it another toast and see how we can pull through. Whooh, much larger hit on that second one.

So in terms of manual vapes guys, I find that this one really has the best vapor output, out of any of them so the Lotus vape and DynaVap and stuff like that, they’ve got a really flavorsome and dense cloud of vapor, but this one just knocks them both out of the park.

The Sticky Brick one offers the densest clouds, I’ve ever seen from a manual device. Obviously looking at the bowl now, two pretty steady hits the the first one more for the terps, the second for that larger cloud, but there’s no brown in the picture whatsoever.

It looks like I’ve just packed fresh herbs into the bottom of this chamber basically. Now I know Sticky Brick has a number of other vapes in their line, they are sort of more positioned towards the water pipe, water pipe market.

So if you are pretty used to consuming your herb through a water pipe or a bong obviously it can be pretty easy to transition to vaping. You’ve got a device that can be compatible with your favourite piece.

But I find that with this extended glass mouthpiece here, this Runt really just works its magic. See if we can get another cloud here off this hood… Whah, that’s just exquisite. Guys keep an eye out for the Runt, in the VapeFuse online store and remember to subscribe to the channel to stay up to date with the latest and greatest in weed vaping news and tech.
